Vipers Demand for Rescheduling of Kitara Fixture Amid FUFA Silence

Seven-time Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have written to the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), calling for the rescheduling of their unresolved league fixture against Kitara FC.

In a letter addressed to the Federation, the Kitende-based club expressed concern over the Competitions Committee’s failure to issue a formal decision regarding the match that was originally scheduled for October 4, 2025.

The fixture, which was to be played at Mandela National Stadium, did not take place after Vipers failed to show up in protest against the new league format that FUFA had introduced earlier in the season. Those regulations were later suspended, a development Vipers say has fundamentally altered the circumstances surrounding the postponed game.

In their latest communication, the Venoms argue that FUFA’s prolonged silence has moved beyond an administrative delay and now threatens the integrity of the competition.

“Vipers SC is now writing to formally protest the continued failure of the Competitions Committee to pronounce itself on the status of our postponed fixture against Kitara FC that had been scheduled for Saturday 4th October, 2025,” the club stated.
“Despite multiple inquiries, the Federation’s silence has moved from a procedural delay to a direct threat to the sporting integrity of the league.”

Vipers further note that the match was postponed during the enforcement of Regulations 14.4 to 14.12, provisions that were later suspended by FUFA. According to the club, this means no ruling can now be made using regulations that are no longer in force.

“By suspending those very regulations, the Federation has admitted that the legal basis under which the league was operating at that time is no longer applicable,” the letter reads.

The Venoms insist it is both legally and logically inconsistent for the Federation to abandon the proposed league format, revert to the old system, and yet leave the Kitara fixture unresolved.

They also warned that the continued inaction by league management has occasioned sporting prejudice and undermines fair competition.

Vipers are therefore calling for the immediate rescheduling of the match against Kitara FC and have asked FUFA to provide written assurance that no forfeiture or walkover ruling will be considered.

The club has given the Federation until January 4, 2026, to resolve the matter.
