Abdallah Mubiru Faces Former Bosses As KCCA FC Hosts Entebbe UPPC

Abdallah Mubiru will make his first return to Lugogo as Entebbe UPPC head coach when his side takes on KCCA in the final game of the first round on Friday night at MTN Omondi Stadium.

The soft-spoken tactician previously enjoyed two spells as KCCA boss before his departure late last season and later joined the Old Entebbe outfit in August.
Mubiru also served the Kasasiro Boys as an assistant coach and player, winning silverware during his time at the club.

Entebbe UPPC travel with four former KCCA players, including captains Julius Poloto and Mustafa Mujjuzi, as well as Steven Munguchi and Isa Mubiru.

Poloto, a KCCA academy graduate, insists emotions will not affect the visitors’ approach.

“KCCA is a big team and playing at home gives them an advantage, but it will be a normal game. These matches motivate themselves and we are going there for a positive result,” he said.

KCCA head coach Brian Ssenyondo echoed similar views, stating that his side remains focused on ending the first round strongly.

KCCA come into the match after a dominant 4-0 win over UPDF, while Entebbe UPPC were held to a goalless draw by Maroons.

The two sides are separated by three points, with KCCA second on 30 points and UPPC fifth on 27.

Historically, KCCA hold the upper hand with five wins from previous meetings, though Friday’s clash will be the first since Entebbe UPPC rebranded from Gaddafi.

Key Stat: KCCA are unbeaten at home this season (6 wins, 1 draw), while Entebbe UPPC remain unbeaten away (4 wins, 2 draws).
