Alfred Leku joins Lugazi FC

Lugazi FC have made a statement of intent ahead of the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League campaign by unveiling prolific striker Alfred Leku.

The towering South Sudanese forward, who has been a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Kenya Police FC, has signed a two-year employment contract with the league leaders that will keep him at the club until at least 2027.

Donning shirt number 19, Leku arrives with a wealth of experience and a reputation as one of the most traveled and battle-tested strikers in the region.

His illustrious football journey boasts stints with some of Uganda’s biggest clubs including Vipers SC, Express FC, Onduparaka, Proline, URA FC and Arua Hill, where he consistently delivered crucial goals.

Beyond Ugandan borders, Leku has featured for Jwaneng Galaxy (2018) and Extension Gunners in Botswana, as well as Zambia’s Zesco United, sharpening his game on the continental stage.

Leku now joins an ambitious Lugazi side that has been busy strengthening its squad, with Dauson Mafumu, Paul Busolo, Yusuf Mafabi, Edrine Owachgiu, David Bagoole, Amos Etoju, and Okwalinga Solomon already added to the roster.

The new-look team will unveil their might when they kickstart the 2025/26 UPL season at home against league newcomers Calvary FC at the Lugazi Stadium.
