BUL FC brought Kitara FC’s impressive defensive record to an end with a gritty 1-0 triumph in a Uganda Premier League showdown at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.
A well-taken second-half effort from Jerome Kirya proved to be the difference for Abbey Kikomeko’s men, handing them their fourth victory in five league outings.
Kitara, who had managed to go 10 consecutive league games without conceding, finally saw their resilience broken as BUL FC completed a season sweep over the Royals, having secured a 3-1 win in the reverse fixture.
The first 45 minutes offered little in terms of goal-scoring opportunities, with both sides prioritizing defensive stability over offensive ambition.
However, BUL FC found the breakthrough just eight minutes into the second half when Jerome Kirya slotted home from close range after an intelligent assist from Hillary Onek.

The visitors pushed forward in search of a response but struggled to break down BUL’s well-organized backline.
Karim Ndugwa nearly extended the hosts’ lead, only to be denied by Kitara’s shot-stopper, Chrispus Kusiima.
With this result, BUL FC maintains third place in the 16-team league table after 18 matches, while Kitara FC remains in fourth with 28 points.
Next, BUL FC will take on URA FC at home, while Kitara FC prepares to face Mbarara City FC in their upcoming fixture.
