Uganda Premier League – Matchday 13
Friday, January 23 | FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru
BUL FC 2–1 SC Villa
BUL FC continued their strong run against SC Villa with a hard-earned 2–1 victory in Njeru, securing a second straight win over the Jogoos and building momentum under returning head coach Alex Isabirye.
The contest began cautiously, with both sides struggling for fluency. Changes came early after injuries forced adjustments on both benches, but BUL eventually found the breakthrough in the 32nd minute when Alex Kitata headed home from a Walter Ochola long throw.

Villa pushed back after the interval and were rewarded in the 64th minute as substitute Reagan Mpande finished from close range following a goalkeeping spill.
However, BUL responded decisively. A costly error at the back allowed Nicholas Mwere’s cross to sneak into the net in the 73rd minute, restoring the hosts’ lead. Mwere’s energetic display later earned him the Man of the Match award.
Despite late pressure and six minutes of added time, BUL defended resolutely to seal the win.
SC Villa will look to bounce back when they host Mbarara City at FUFA Kadiba Stadium on January 28.
BUL, meanwhile, head to Najjembe a day earlier to face Lugazi FC, full of confidence after once again proving they have Villa’s number.
Matchday 13 concludes on Saturday, January 24, with fixtures across three venues.
Mbarara City welcome Lugazi FC at Rwamwanja, NEC FC host Kitara FC at Lugogo, while Hamz Stadium stages a double-header, Express FC vs Buhimba United Saints, followed by URA FC vs Vipers SC.
