CAF Champions League – Allan Okello’s Young Africans Fall to Al Ahly in Alexandria

Al Ahly tightened their grip on CAF Champions League Group B after a composed 2–0 victory over Tanzania’s Young Africans in Alexandria on Friday night.

Mohamed Trezeguet was the difference-maker, striking at the death of the first half before returning to punish Young Africans again in the 75th minute.

His well-taken brace ensured the Egyptian giants maintained their perfect control of the contest.

The result lifts the record champions to the summit of the group on seven points, opening a three-point cushion over Young Africans, who remain second despite the setback.

Ugandan international Allan Okello was handed a starting role and battled for 75 minutes in midfield before making way for Zimbabwean forward Prince Dube as the visitors searched for a way back into the match.

Attention now shifts to Dar es Salaam, where the two sides will renew their rivalry in the return leg on January 31, 2026, with Young Africans aiming to respond on home soil and Al Ahly seeking to extend their dominance.
