The Uganda senior women’s national football team, the Crested Cranes, has retained its 148th position in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Rankings released on Thursday.
Despite their recent exit from the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers, the team’s global standing remains unchanged from the previous ranking issued in December 2024.
Uganda’s elimination came at the hands of Ethiopia in February, yet the Crested Cranes’ ranking was unaffected.
Meanwhile, Ethiopia, their conquerors in the qualifiers, holds the 128th spot in the global standings.
On the international stage, the reigning FIFA Women’s World Cup winners, Spain, continue to dominate the rankings alongside the United States, who hold onto second place.
Japan has made a significant leap, climbing to fifth place after securing the SheBelieves Cup title. Sweden, Canada, and Brazil have each slipped one spot, while the rest of the top ten teams remain unchanged.
