FUFA Reschedules Big League Fixtures to Clear Path for Drum Quarterfinals

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has adjusted the FUFA Big League calendar to pave way for the highly anticipated FUFA Drum quarterfinal clashes.

According to the FUFA Competitions Department, Match-day 20—initially set for March 22—has been moved to March 25, while Match-day 21, which was due on March 26, will now be played on April 1, 2026. The shift ensures a smooth schedule for the FUFA Drum knockout stage, which continues to grow in prominence across the country.

The first legs of the two-legged quarterfinal ties will be staged between March 22 and 23, with the decisive return fixtures lined up for March 28 and 29.

The quarterfinal matchups promise thrilling regional rivalries. Bunyoro will square off against former champions West Nile, while 2019 winners Acholi take on Busoga, who finished runners-up in 2024. Elsewhere, Teso faces a stern test against reigning champions Lango, and inaugural winners Buganda will clash with Tooro in another exciting tie.

Since its inception, the FUFA Drum has evolved into a cultural and sporting spectacle, celebrating Uganda’s rich heritage through football. The competition continues to attract significant corporate backing, with brands such as MTN Uganda and Nile Special capitalizing on the massive fan engagement that the tournament commands.
