HAMZ Cup Nears Climax with Shs50m Final Showdown at Nakivubo

The 2025 HAMZ Cup is heading into its decisive moment, with just days remaining before the much-anticipated final between Kafumbe 1 and Arrows Arcade at HAMZ Stadium, Nakivubo.

Scheduled for Friday, December 19, the grand finale will crown the champions of a tournament that has kept fans engaged since February.

A lucrative Shs50,000,000 awaits the winners, highlighting the scale and ambition of the competition.

Fans will be treated to a full afternoon and evening of football. The programme opens at 3:00pm with the third-place classification match, where Kafumbe 2 will take on Pentagon.

The spotlight will then turn to the final at 6:00pm, when Kafumbe 1 and Arrows Arcade battle for the trophy.

Featuring over 40 teams, the HAMZ Cup has grown into one of the most competitive community tournaments on the calendar.

In addition to the top prize, the finalists are guaranteed Shs25,000,000, while teams finishing third and fourth will earn Shs15,000,000 and Shs10,000,000 respectively.

Organisers have also set aside rewards to honour passion and discipline. The team with the biggest supporter turnout will receive Shs1,000,000, while the Fair Play award carries Shs500,000.

Individual excellence will be celebrated as well. The tournament’s Most Valuable Player will walk away with Shs1,000,000, while awards for Best Coach, Best Goalkeeper and other standout performers will each be worth Shs500,000.

These details were officially confirmed during a press conference held on Monday, December 15, at the HAMZ Stadium Nakivubo Press Centre.

On the scoring front, Ali Sulaiman Ssentonga, formerly of Vienna Arcade, leads the Golden Boot race with 10 goals.

He is closely followed by Robert Ssewanyana of Numark/Life and Pentagon’s Ashraf Kigozi, who still has a chance to improve his tally in the third-place playoff.
