Kampala Queens Extend Unbeaten Streak with Commanding Win Over She Corporate

Kampala Queens reinforced their supremacy in the league with a composed 2-0 victory over She Corporate on Saturday morning at the MTN-Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

Strikes from Shamirah Nalugya and Jamirah Nabulime ensured the table leaders maintained their flawless run, further tightening their grip at the summit of the standings.

Both sides exhibited a measured approach in the opening half, with neither team able to carve out clear-cut opportunities.

However, after the interval, Kampala Queens seized control, dictating play and launching relentless attacks against their opponents.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 61st minute when She Corporate’s Aminah Nakato misjudged possession, allowing Nalugya to pounce.

The midfield maestro took full advantage, unleashing a ferocious shot from distance that left the goalkeeper helpless as the ball nestled into the net.

Kampala Queens doubled their lead in the 75th minute through a perfectly placed header from Jamirah Nabulime.

A pinpoint corner delivery from Nalugya found Nabulime unmarked, and she nodded the ball past the keeper to secure the three points.

The hosts could have widened the scoreline, but efforts from Shamusa Najjuma, Shamirah Nalugya, and Anitah Namata narrowly missed the target.

This triumph saw Kampala Queens complete a season double over She Corporate, having previously edged them 1-0 in the reverse fixture.

The result widened their lead at the top of the table, extending their advantage to nine points over closest challengers Amus and Kawempe, who both have a game in hand.

Nalugya’s goal was her sixth of the campaign, adding to her four assists, making her the first player from Kampala Queens to hit double digits in goal contributions this season. She currently stands as the team’s top scorer.

Up next, Kampala Queens will be on the road to face Wakiso Hill on Saturday, March 22, 2025, while She Corporate will look to bounce back when they welcome Uganda Martyrs the following day.

Elsewhere in the league, Olila triumphed over Rines with a 2-0 victory, Uganda Martyrs secured a narrow 1-0 win against She Maroons, while Tooro Queens and Makerere battled to a goalless draw.
