KCCA Chase Fifth Straight Win as They Visit Struggling Lugazi

KCCA FC will aim to stretch their impressive run in the league to five consecutive victories when they travel to face Lugazi FC at Lugazi Stadium in Najjembe on Saturday afternoon.

The Kasasiro Boys head into the encounter in red-hot form, having collected four straight wins in the Uganda Premier League. Since their 3-1 setback earlier in the second round, KCCA have responded strongly and are determined to maintain momentum as the title race intensifies.

In contrast, Lugazi approach the fixture under pressure following a poor run of results. The hosts have lost four of their last five league matches, including three consecutive defeats, leaving them desperate to halt the slump in front of their home supporters.

KCCA will rely heavily on their attacking trio led by striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe, who has been in blistering scoring form with five goals in his last five appearances. He is expected to be supported by Said Mayanja and Shafik Nana Kwikiriza as the visitors search for goals against Lugazi’s defence.

Historically, the meetings between the two sides have been closely contested. KCCA have managed just one victory in three league encounters with Lugazi, while the reverse fixture earlier in the season ended in a goalless stalemate at Lugogo.

KCCA currently occupy third place on the table with 42 points, trailing league leaders Vipers SC by five points and sitting four behind second-placed Kitara FC, who recently recorded a commanding 4-0 win over Buhimba United Saints in Hoima.

Elsewhere on Saturday’s schedule, SC Villa travel to face Entebbe UPPC at the Fisheries Ground in Bugonga, while Maroons FC host UPDF FC at the Prisons Grounds in Luzira.

Later in the evening, Express FC take on URA FC under the floodlights at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, as reigning champions Vipers SC welcome Calvary FC at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
