Kenneth Kimera Completes Loan Move To Express FC

Express FC have strengthened their frontline with the loan signing of striker Kenneth Kimera from Vipers SC, Swift Sports understands.

The Red Eagles have moved swiftly to address their attacking concerns by landing the forward, who has struggled for consistent minutes this campaign.

Kimera has made just two league appearances this season, both as a late substitute against BUL FC and Lugazi FC, featuring for only the final six minutes in each encounter.

The striker first caught the eye during the 2023/24 Uganda Premier League season with Wakiso Giants, earning a transfer to Vipers at the beginning of the previous term. However, breaking into the Venoms’ starting lineup proved difficult, limiting his overall impact.

Since joining Vipers, Kimera has accumulated 20 league appearances, registering two goals and one assist. The loan switch to Wankulukuku presents an opportunity for the forward to revive his form and secure regular playing time.

Express had initially targeted Nelson Senkatuka from URA FC but failed to complete the deal, prompting the club to explore alternative attacking options.

The club has been actively reshaping its squad following the exits of Muhammad Ssenoga Kagawa and Richard Basangwa, both of whom played pivotal roles in the team’s offensive structure.

Kimera becomes the eighth mid-season addition for Express, joining Shafik Lugolobi, Marvin Praise Wambuga, James Ssemambo, Marvin Nyanzi, Gift Ali Abubaker, Blanchar Mulamba and Amos Muwonge as part of a broader rebuilding effort.

Currently positioned 11th on the league standings with 18 points, Express will look to turn their fortunes around when they host Maroons FC at Nakivubo on Wednesday, March 4.
