Lugazi desperate to end winless run as Buhimba seek redemption

The battle for revival takes center stage this Saturday as Lugazi FC welcome Buhimba United Saints to the vibrant Lugazi Stadium, Najjembe, in what promises to be a test of grit, belief, and bounce-back spirit.

Lugazi’s early-season spark has fizzled out in recent weeks. The hosts have gone four games without victory, two draws and two defeats, since their opening day triumph over Calvary FC.

The Najjembe faithful will be craving a turnaround as their team sits in 12th place with just five points, teetering dangerously close to the relegation bracket.

For head coach Steven Bogere’s side, this fixture is more than just another league game, it’s a defining moment to restore confidence and silence the growing anxiety around the camp.

Buhimba United Saints, on the other hand, began the campaign like a runaway train, registering three consecutive wins that had fans dreaming big.

But the Saints have since hit a rough patch, suffering back-to-back 3–0 drubbings against BUL FC and SC Villa, a run that’s seen them tumble from top spot to sixth on the table.

Coach Hamis Wasswa faces the task of reigniting his side’s early-season fire, knowing another slip could extend their freefall and erase the strong start they worked so hard for.

With both sides chasing redemption—Lugazi fighting to rise, Buhimba determined to stop the slide—this encounter at Najjembe is poised to deliver fireworks.

Under the Lights: NEC eye fresh start against BUL

Later in the day, all roads lead to the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, where NEC FC, under new head coach Kaddu Badru Mukasa, take on high-flying BUL FC in an evening clash under the floodlights.

It’s a new chapter for NEC, who will be hoping the change in the dugout sparks an immediate response against one of the league’s most consistent performers. For Mukasa, this fixture offers a perfect stage to stamp his authority and rally his troops toward a fresh beginning.

BUL, meanwhile, continue to showcase the steel and discipline of title contenders. Their recent performances have been commanding, and they’ll look to extend that momentum with another solid display in the capital.
