Lugazi FC Part Ways with Entire Coaching Bench After Poor Run

Uganda Premier League outfit Lugazi FC have dismissed their entire technical team following a disappointing run of results in the ongoing season.

The club confirmed on Monday morning that co-head coaches Francis Mugerwa and Steven Bogere have been relieved of their responsibilities with immediate effect, citing failure to meet the club’s expectations.

In an official statement, Lugazi FC noted that the decision was reached after careful assessment of the team’s performances this term.

“Lugazi FC wishes to announce that Francis Mugerwa and Steven Bogere have been relieved of their duties as co-head coaches of the senior team with immediate effect for falling short of the club’s expectations,” the statement read.

The shake-up extends beyond the head coaches, with assistant coach Gerald Efiti, goalkeeping coach Kizza Adam, statistician Alex Mugabi, and team doctor Jude Ssempijja also exiting the club.

Despite the abrupt ending, Lugazi FC expressed appreciation to the outgoing staff for their service.

“On behalf of everyone at Lugazi FC, the club would like to thank Mugerwa, Bogere and their staff for all their efforts during their time with the club,” the statement added.

The management further revealed that a replacement head coach will be appointed before the Uganda Premier League resumes.

Lugazi FC are currently struggling near the foot of the table, sitting 14th with only 10 points accumulated so far this season, a situation that has piled pressure on the club as it battles to steer clear of relegation trouble.
