Seven-time Uganda Premier League champions Express FC have reached an agreement to sign midfielder Moses Sseruyidde, popularly known as Kinye, Xavi Sports Media can reliably confirm.
Sseruyidde is currently a free agent and has recently been turning heads while featuring for non-league side Football Classroom in the ongoing Stanbic Uganda Cup.
The crafty midfielder produced a moment of magic earlier this week when he fired in a spectacular free kick against Uganda Premier League side Calvary FC, helping Football Classroom register a historic 3-1 victory on Monday to seal a place in the Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 32.
According to sources close to the development, the player is set to put pen to paper on a two-year employment contract with the Red Eagles during the current transfer window.
Kinye brings vast experience to Express, having previously played for Rwanda Premier League outfit Police FC, as well as Uganda topflight sides including URA FC.
He also enjoyed a successful spell at Kitara FC, where he played a key role in their FUFA Big League triumph in the 2022/23 season, a campaign that saw the Hoima-based club earn promotion back to the Uganda Premier League.
Kinye has also previously featured for Kira United and Kajjansi Boys (KB) Lions, further adding to his growing football resume.
His imminent arrival comes at a time when Express FC are restructuring their squad following the exit of four players who recently completed moves to NEC FC.
The departed quartet includes Hakim Wandera, Muhammad Ssenoga Kagawa, Abdulahi Rashid Kawawa, and Richard Basangwa.
With head coach Jimmy Kintu expected to strengthen his team ahead of the remainder of the season, Express FC are anticipated to remain active in the transfer market as they seek to reinforce key departments.
