Police Target Redemption as UPL Midweek Battles Heat Up

The Uganda Premier League enters a decisive midweek stretch starting Wednesday, December 3, 2025, with action lined up across multiple venues as teams jostle for early-season stability and momentum.

At the Police Arena in Kiira Road, hosts Police FC are desperate to steady their campaign after a disappointing home defeat to Kitara in their previous outing.

The 2005 league champions, who had been touted as possible title contenders, now face pressure to demonstrate consistency and character when they welcome Buhimba United Saints under the floodlights at 8pm.

Head coach Matia Lule will demand sharpness from his forward line spearheaded by Congolese attacker Bedia Ikamba, dominance from midfield maestro and captain Said Kyeyune, and improved organisation from his defense.

Police sit 3rd with 14 points, and a win would propel them alongside leaders KCCA and SC Villa, who both hold 17 points.

For struggling Buhimba, the assignment couldn’t be tougher. The newly promoted outfit have endured a torrid run, five consecutive losses and no point collected in that stretch, shipping a staggering 20 goals. However, a shock victory could lift them from 13th to 7th, injecting new life into their season.

Earlier on Wednesday at 4pm, Mbarara City host Entebbe UPPC at the Rwamanja Stadium in Kamwenge.

Entebbe UPPC will aim to preserve their spotless away form, while Mbarara look to exploit home advantage in what promises to be a fiercely contested tie.

The action continues on Thursday, December 4, with a double-header at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo. Express FC take on Calvary FC at 3pm in a rescheduled fixture, before URA lock horns with in-form Kitara under the floodlights at 8pm.

On Friday, December 5, the spotlight shifts to Bombo as UPDF welcome Lugazi FC at the Military Barracks Grounds at 4pm. Later that evening, NEC FC entertain Vipers SC at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, in what could be one of the marquee matches of the weekend.

Saturday, December 6, wraps up the matchday with two heavyweight clashes:

  • BUL FC vs KCCA FC at the Fufa Technical Centre in Njeru at 4pm
  • Maroons FC vs SC Villa at the Prisons Grounds in Luzira, also at 4pm
