Friday night lights return to MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, where struggling NEC gear up for a high–pressure clash against reigning champions Vipers SC.
The Bugolobi side enters the contest desperate to turn around what has been a chaotic and inconsistent campaign.
NEC have stumbled through the opening phase of the season with two wins, two losses and four draws, a run that has anchored them in the lower half of the table on 10 points from eight matches.
Their new head coach, Badru Kaddu, who took over from Hussein Mbalangu, has managed just a single victory and now finds himself tasked with rescuing their season before the gap widens.

The hosts pulled off a memorable 3–1 victory over Vipers in the same fixture last season but will head into this encounter weakened by injuries. Daniel Shabena, Titus Ssematimba, and Muzamir Mutyaba have all been ruled out.
Meanwhile, Vipers arrive with momentum and confidence after demolishing UPDF 5–1 in their previous outing.
The champions have secured five wins from six matches, and another victory will propel them toward the summit.
In the day’s early fixture, UPDF welcomes Lugazi FC at Bombo Military grounds, with both teams fighting to escape the relegation zone.
Each side is in dire need of maximum points as they search for stability in what has been a troubling start.
