Uganda Premier League giants and record 17-time winners, SC Villa, have officially parted ways with their Technical Director, Moses Basena, bringing down the curtain on a tenure that lasted barely three months.
The development was confirmed on Saturday morning through a club statement posted across Villa’s official communication platforms.

Basena, who assumed the role in July with the task of guiding the Jogoos’ technical philosophy and sharpening the club’s football blueprint, now leaves the Blues’ camp in what has been described as a mutual separation.
The seasoned tactician joined Villa at a time of heightened ambition, with the club seeking to reclaim its lost dominance in Ugandan football.
However, the brief spell did not unfold as envisioned, paving the way for both parties to draw the line and chart fresh paths.
SC Villa’s statement expressed gratitude for Basena’s contribution, adding that the club remains committed to its long-term revival project.
For Basena, this marks another twist in a decorated career that has seen him manage the Uganda Cranes on an interim basis, as well as handle top-flight sides like UPDF, The Saints, and Kyetume.
