Six Teams to Complete FIFA World Cup 2026 Cast

With less than three months to kick-off, the race to complete the lineup for the historic FIFA World Cup 2026 has reached its निर्णing stage, with six slots still up for grabs across Europe and the intercontinental play-offs.

The global showpiece, set to be staged across Canada, United States and Mexico, already has most teams confirmed following the final draw held in December. However, four European play-off winners and two intercontinental victors will complete the 48-team roster.

In the intercontinental play-offs, DR Congo carry Africa’s hopes as they face Jamaica in Guadalajara. The Leopards are chasing their first World Cup appearance since 1974, while Jamaica seek a return for the first time since 1998, with the winner advancing to a tricky Group K alongside Portugal, Colombia and Uzbekistan.

Elsewhere, Iraq take on Bolivia in Monterrey, with both sides targeting a return to the global stage. Iraq are aiming for only their second appearance, while Bolivia hope to secure a fourth, and the winner will move into Group I with France, Senegal and Norway.

In Europe, four decisive finals will determine the remaining qualifiers, starting with Italy against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Zenica, where the Italians are desperate to end their absence from the last two World Cups and secure a place in Group B alongside Canada, Qatar and Switzerland.

In Solna, Sweden meet Poland in a clash of experienced sides, with the winner heading to Group F to join Japan, Netherlands and Tunisia.

Meanwhile, Turkey face Kosovo in Pristina, with Kosovo eyeing a historic first-ever qualification, and the winner set to enter Group C alongside Paraguay, Australia and hosts United States.

The final European play-off sees Denmark take on Czech Republic in Prague, with the victor advancing to Group A with South Korea, Mexico and South Africa.
