Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi, produced a commanding display to clinch the 2024-25 Pepsi University Football League (UFL) title, outclassing St Lawrence University with a 3-0 victory at Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
The Nkozi-based side stamped their authority early in the contest when Calvin Peter Emayu found the net six minutes after the half-hour mark, sending their fans into raptures under the sweltering afternoon sun.
Moments before the break, Crispus Sseruwunge doubled the advantage, ensuring a comfortable 2-0 cushion as the teams headed into the interval.

Shortly after the restart, Giu Obedi added a third goal, delightfully lifting the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper, courtesy of an incisive pass from Ivan Agamile.
The third strike all but sealed the championship for Eric Kisuze’s men, who have now secured their third UFL crown, adding to their growing legacy in university football.
Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi walked away with the glittering championship trophy and gold medals, succeeding Nkumba University who had triumphed in the previous edition.

Earlier in the day, Bugema University edged Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) 1-0 to claim third place. Mark Innocent Musuk was the hero, scoring the decisive goal that earned Bugema a hard-fought bronze medal.
Over the years, the Pepsi University Football League has grown into one of the most prestigious youth football competitions in the country, providing a vital stage for young stars to shine and build their careers.
