The Uganda Premier League returns with high-stakes midweek action as SC Villa look to climb to the top of the standings for the first time this season when they visit UPDF FC on Tuesday afternoon in Bombo.
Villa, guided by Zeljko Kovacevic, travel to the Military Barracks riding on a wave of confidence after stringing together four straight victories.
The Jogoos have not faltered since their Matchday 1 setback against KCCA, and their form now places them within touching distance of the summit.
A win would temporarily lift them above joint leaders KCCA and Police, who each sit on 14 points.
However, Bombo has not always been kind to Villa. They left last season empty-handed, and the hosts, fresh from breaking their losing streak with a determined win over Calvary are eager to frustrate another challenger.

Right-back Frank Mulimi believes Villa have sharpened their approach ahead of the tricky trip.
“The coaches have prepared us well, and we know exactly what we’re walking into,” he told club media. “It’s always a tough place to go, but we’re confident we can deliver the result we want victory.”
UPDF, sitting 13th with six points, will hope their experienced defensive pairing of former Villa captain Bernard Muwanga and Aggrey Kirya can repel the visitors’ vibrant frontline.
Goalkeeper Abdul Kimera is expected to stand between the posts. Villa’s attacking threat will come from Frank Ssebuufu, Hassan Mubiru and Ibrahim Kasinde, with Barasa Mangoli, captain David Owori and Geofrey Lubangakene anchoring the backline.
