UPL Adjusts Matchday 23 Fixtures Due to International Commitment

The Uganda Premier League Secretariat has announced revisions to selected Matchday 23 fixtures of the 2025/26 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season following scheduling conflicts.

In an official communication released on Thursday, the Secretariat confirmed that the adjustments have been necessitated by the upcoming FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Qualifier between Uganda and Zimbabwe, set for Saturday, 18 April 2026 at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba.

According to the statement, the international fixture created a venue overlap, prompting the need to reorganize domestic league matches.

“The Secretariat wishes to notify all stakeholders of changes to some Matchday 23 fixtures following official communication from FUFA regarding the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Qualifier scheduled for April 18, 2026, at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba. This development has led to a venue clash,” part of the statement reads.

The decision was further influenced by concerns raised by KCCA FC and NEC FC over the practicality of hosting a double-header at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo under the initial arrangement.

As a result, the revised fixture lineup is as follows:

SC Villa will now take on Vipers SC on Wednesday, 15 April 2026 under floodlights at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba, with kickoff set for 8:00 PM.

KCCA FC’s encounter against Kitara FC has been moved to Friday, 17 April 2026 at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, also scheduled for 8:00 PM.

Meanwhile, NEC FC will face Maroons FC on Saturday, 18 April 2026 at the same venue, MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, with kickoff slated for 8:00 PM.

The Secretariat noted that the adjustments are aimed at ensuring smooth coordination between domestic competitions and international commitments, while also addressing logistical concerns raised by clubs.
