Relegation fears loom large in Hoima as Buhimba United Saints FC welcome fellow strugglers UPDF FC to The Royals Park in what already feels like a season-defining showdown.
The league newcomers who began the campaign brightly with nine points from their first three outings, have since hit a dramatic slump.
Buhimba enter Wednesday’s contest carrying the weight of six successive defeats, a brutal run in which they have shipped 24 goals.
Another setback could drag them into the bottom two as the first round approaches its final stretch.
UPDF, meanwhile, arrive in Butema with a renewed sense of belief after a commanding 2-0 victory over Lugazi.
That result lifted them level with Buhimba on nine points, and a win in Hoima would propel either side into the company of mid-table teams Express and Maroons, who sit on 12 points.
With both sides desperate to steer clear of the early relegation cloud, tension and urgency are expected to headline the 4PM kickoff.
While drama brews in Hoima, Police FC will be seeking to climb to the top of the log when they travel to face Lugazi FC at the Lugazi Stadium in Najjembe.
Victory could see the Cops leap above the league leaders, piling pressure on the chasing pack.
