Police FC continued to underline their title credentials with a composed and calculated 2-0 triumph over Entebbe UPPC as the League returned from the international break on Wednesday.
The Cops, who have been in irresistible form since the campaign kicked off, once again showcased their efficiency at Bugonga Fisheries Ground, stretching their lead at the top of the log to three points ahead of closest challengers KCCA FC.
Entebbe UPPC began the afternoon on the front foot, stringing passes confidently and dictating rhythm in the opening stages.
Their early dominance, however, counted for little when Police capitalised on a defensive lapse just after the half-hour mark.

Goalkeeper Rogers Omedwa hesitated instead of clearing his lines, inviting pressure from the alert and relentless Lawrence Tezikya, who nipped in to slot into an unattended net and hand the visitors a priceless advantage.
At the restart, Entebbe head coach Abdallah Mubiru attempted to tilt the tide by introducing Noordin Bunjo Sadic and Charles Okello Batibwe for Steven Munguchi and John Kokas Alou.
The substitutions injected fresh energy into the hosts’ approach, but Police remained tactically disciplined and structurally unshakeable.
Despite waves of pressure from the home side, the Cops’ defensive unit held firm, blocking lanes, winning aerial duels and clearing danger with admirable composure.
Their persistence paid off late on when Abdushakur Ramsey Jjemba finished off a well-worked move with eight minutes left to put the contest beyond Entebbe’s reach.
The win propels Police FC to 14 points from eight outings, reaffirming their status as the team to beat so far this season.
Entebbe UPPC, meanwhile, stay fifth on 10 points and will rue missed chances and costly errors on a day they started brightly but failed to capitalise.
