URA FC Revamp Squad as Waiswa Headlines Four New Arrivals

Four-time Uganda Premier League champions URA FC have moved swiftly in the mid-season transfer window, revamping their squad after an underwhelming first half of the campaign.

The Tax Collectors have confirmed four new signings while parting ways with eight players as they seek to reignite their season.

Midfielder Moses Waiswa has already been unveiled as URA’s first official signing of the window. The experienced playmaker joins on a two-year contract as a free agent following his departure from Vipers SC.

“We are delighted to welcome Moses Waiswa to URA FC on a two-year deal,” the club announced.

“An experienced and versatile midfielder with a winning mentality, Waiswa joins as our first mid-season signing and is ready to hit the ground running.”

Although yet to be officially unveiled, URA have also secured the services of former Uganda U20 international Derrick Kakooza, ex-Wakiso Giants FC captain Rahmat Ssenfuka and left back Disan Galiwango.

The quartet is expected to add experience, leadership and depth to a side that has struggled for consistency this season.

Eight Players Shown the Exit

To create room for the new arrivals, URA have released eight players, most of them departing on loan deals.

Former Bright Stars FC captain Nelson Senkatuka and left back Shafik Lugolobi have reportedly joined Express FC on loan.

Kabon Living has permanently returned to Kitara FC, while Amis Bwangani and Faisal Matovu have been loaned to Iganga United FC, where they had been featuring as double-licensed players.

Midfielders Laban Tibita and Abraham Tusubira are also reportedly set to complete loan moves to Entebbe UPPC FC.

Nicholas Kabonge is among those listed as outgoing as the Tax Collectors trim their squad in a bid to balance numbers and improve competition within the team.

The transfer activity signals URA’s intent to turn around their fortunes in the second round of the season. With proven performers like Waiswa coming in and several players seeking regular game time elsewhere, the club appears determined to reset and mount a stronger push in the remaining fixtures.
