BUL FC’s revival under head coach Alex Isabirye will face its sternest examination yet when they welcome reigning champions Vipers SC at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru on Friday, February 13, 2026.
The Jinja-based outfit has shown visible improvement since Isabirye was appointed for his third stint in charge, winning four matches and losing only once across all competitions.
BUL will head into the contest high on confidence after cruising into the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32, and they will be eager to translate that momentum into league success.
Sitting 8th on the table with 19 points, BUL understand that a strong second round is required if they are to push closer to the top sides.
A victory against the league leaders would not only boost their ambitions but also strengthen their impressive recent home record against the Venoms.
However, they come up against a Vipers side that is equally under pressure.
The Kitende giants have seen their once comfortable lead at the summit trimmed after losing points from a match they failed to honour against Kitara FC.
Following Kitara’s midweek win away to Maroons, Vipers now sit top with 36 points, only one point ahead of their closest challengers.
Head coach Ivan Minnaert and his squad are therefore expected to approach the trip to Njeru with urgency, knowing that any slip could cost them control of the title race.
Vipers will look to key figures such as Karim Watambala, Milton Karisa and Usama Arafat to continue their impressive form following the departure of Allan Okello, with goals expected to be crucial in what promises to be a tightly contested affair.
Yet, their defence marshalled by Congolese import Kevin Dasylva Baddy must remain alert, as BUL boast dangerous attacking options in Karim Ndugwa and Seiri Arigumaho, both capable of punishing any lapse at the back.
Victory for Vipers would see them restore breathing space at the top by opening a four-point gap over second-placed Kitara, while BUL would hope to strengthen their growing belief that they can compete with the league’s elite.
Key Stat
BUL are unbeaten at home against Vipers since a 3-1 defeat in 2022, when Najib Yiga (2) and Denis Mwemezi scored the goals for the Venoms. (BUL: L2, D1 in last three home meetings)
