Bugerere are flying high in this year’s Masaza Cup after a gritty 1-0 triumph over heavyweights Mawokota, thanks to a sensational header by Henry Wamala that lit up the Ntenjeru skies.
In a fiercely contested Matchday 4 encounter on Sunday, Bugerere showcased steel, spirit, and structure to stretch their unbeaten run in the 2025 campaign.
The hosts weathered a stormy first half from Mawokota, who carved out several openings but failed to convert, only for the game to tilt in Bugerere’s favor just before the break.
The moment of magic came when Henry Wamala, with a predator’s instinct, rose highest to meet a pin-point cross, glancing a thunderous header past Mawokota’s shot-stopper.

Despite trailing, Mawokota resumed the second half with intent, throwing bodies forward in search of an equaliser.
But Bugerere’s defense dubbed the “Berlin Wall” by local fans, stood tall and resolute, frustrating every attempt with inch-perfect tackles and tactical discipline.

The result now propels Bugerere to 4th place in the red-hot Bulange Group with 6 points just one behind co-leaders Mawokota and Buweekula, setting up an electrifying climax to the group stage battles.
