In a dramatic twist aimed at breathing new life into a faltering campaign, Masaza Cup giants Gomba have confirmed the return of seasoned tactician Mukasa Nasib as their new head coach.
The appointment comes in the wake of Simon Ddungu ‘Dunga’s resignation on Sunday, July 13, following the team’s dismal start to the 2025 tournament, a run that has seen them lose all three of their opening fixtures.
Currently rooted at the bottom of the Bulange Group with zero points, the five-time Masaza Cup champions have opted for a familiar face to navigate them out of troubled waters.

This marks Nasib’s second stint in the Gomba dugout, having previously taken charge midway through last season when he replaced Frank Mulindwa.
A man with deep roots and unmatched experience in the Masaza football circles, Mukasa Nasib returns to Gomba with a glittering resume that includes coaching spells at Bulemeezi, Buluuli, and a prior spell at Gomba itself.
Ironically, he had been managing Buluuli this very season, the same side Gomba is set to face next on Sunday, July 20, at the Kabulasoke PTC Grounds.
His immediate task is to galvanize a demoralized squad and secure a vital first win that could potentially reignite their title hopes.
Gomba’s decision to reappoint Mukasa Nasib reflects both a nod to his tactical prowess and a desperate need for revival.
