Juba is buzzing with excitement after Jamus SC pulled off one of the region’s biggest transfer coups, officially unveiling Uganda Cranes hotshot Jude Ssemugabi on Friday afternoon.
The lethal forward touched down in South Sudan’s capital to a warm reception, with the club confirming his arrival:
“Please join us in welcoming Jude Ssemugabi, who arrived this afternoon! He will have his first training session tomorrow as we prepare for the match against Al-Hilal of Sudan. His talent will be a big boost to our team.”
Ssemugabi’s switch ends weeks of swirling speculation that had linked him to Ugandan giants Vipers SC, KCCA FC, and even a daring move to Asia with Brunei DPMM FC. In the end, Jamus won the race for his coveted signature, adding a cutting edge to their attack.
The striker leaves Kitara FC with his reputation firmly established. From scoring a crucial goal for Uganda in the thrilling 3-3 African Nations Championship clash with South Africa, to finding the net again in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Somalia, Ssemugabi has proved he can deliver on the big stage.
His rise has been nothing short of meteoric. Starting at Kiboga Young, lighting up the 2018 Masaza Cup with Ssingo, where he not only lifted the trophy but also walked away with the golden boot.
Ssemugabi cemented his name in the Uganda Premier League with stellar spells at Mbarara City and Kitara.
