The journey began on June 21st at the electrifying Kitovu Sports Arena in Masaka, where defending champions Buddu edged record winners Gomba 1-0 in a tightly-contested opener that set the tone for a high-octane tournament.

But the true headline moment arrived a week later on Saturday, June 28th, as Kyadondo hosted Bulemeezi in a historic showdown at the freshly refurbished Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.

The clash marked the glorious return of Masaza Cup football to the iconic venue after a 12-year hiatus, and it didn’t disappoint.

With a sea of passionate fans filling the stands, Kyadondo sealed a memorable 1-0 victory courtesy of a late dagger from Sudais Ssentamu, igniting scenes of jubilation in Kampala’s football heartland.

Elsewhere, Kabula and Ssingo cancelled each other out in a cagey goalless draw, while Buluuli flexed their muscle with a gritty 2-0 win over Ssese at Lotoboka Grounds.

Sunday action (June 29th) kept the fire burning as Kyaggwe showcased class with a slick 2-0 win over Kkooki at Mukono Bishop SS, thanks to well-crafted goals from David Mugalu and Yosam Ssembalirwa.

In another thrilling encounter, Mawokota edged past Buweekula 2-1 at Buwama Grounds in a pulsating affair.

George Isingoma stole the spotlight with a scintillating brace, while Benon Candia salvaged a late consolation for the visitors.

The weekend also saw Mawogola sneak past Butambala 1-0, while Busujju stunned Busiro with a razor-thin 1-0 triumph.
