Tanzania Unveil Full 28-Man AFCON Squad

Tanzania head coach Miguel Gamondi has confirmed his final 28-man squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, naming a group built around domestic strength and key foreign-based stars.

Captain Mbwana Samatta returns in top form to lead the Taifa Stars, while experienced attacker Simon Msuva also makes the cut.

The squad features a dominant contingent from Simba SC, Young Africans, and Azam FC, reflecting Gamondi’s push for a team grounded in local identity.

Promising youngsters Kelvin Nashon and Novatus Dismas earn places, while England-based defender Haji Mnoga adds experience to the backline.

Tanzania, competing in a tough Group C with Nigeria, Tunisia, and regional rivals Uganda, will open their campaign on 23 December.
