Victoria University has long stood tall as a beacon of academic excellence, shaping the minds of future leaders, innovators, and change-makers.
The University has been celebrated as a citadel of knowledge, a higher institution where brilliant minds are nurtured, futures are forged, and excellence is a tradition.
Beyond the academic walls and graduation gowns, there’s a new kind of roar echoing across Uganda’s sports circles where the University is rewriting the script, emerging not just as a center of higher learning, but as a formidable powerhouse on the basketball court.

In their debut NBL campaign, the Victoria Crocs have sent shockwaves through Uganda’s top basketball league.
The team has soared to 4th place on the 12-team log, with an impressive record of four wins from six games, tallying 10 points, just four shy of table leaders Namuwongo Blazers, who have played a game more.
Under the tactical genius of head coach Rogers Sserunyigo, the Crocs made a bold statement on Saturday, April 19, with a dominant 75-42 victory over Livingstone.
The spotlight shone brightly on Wobushobozi Cyrus, who delivered a clinical performance with 17 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds, leading by example.
Alema Cedric wasn’t far behind, controlling both ends of the court with 13 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 steals.
Meanwhile, Ayume Ronald and Kowai Deng each added 11 points to the scoreboard, sealing a well-deserved victory.
What makes this feat even more remarkable is that it comes from a team representing an institution that’s traditionally known for academics.
The Crocs return to the court on Wednesday, April 23, facing off with Sommet BC at the vibrant YMCA Courts in Wandegeya.
The Victoria Crocs are proof that the institution’s commitment to excellence goes beyond lecture rooms and research labs. It pulses through every dribble, pass, and slam dunk on the court.
