Vipers SC roared back to winning momentum with an emphatic 5–1 demolition of UPDF FC on Tuesday evening at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, sealing their fifth triumph of the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League campaign.
The Venoms signaled intent early on, with Allan Okello squandering a clear chance inside the opening 10 minutes after being teed up by the lively Gusto Mulongo.
Moments later, Usama Arafat forced UPDF goalkeeper Abdul Kimera into a sharp save from a beautifully curled free kick.
The breakthrough eventually arrived in the 33rd minute. Arafat sent in a teasing cross that Mulongo misdirected, but inadvertently turned into the perfect square ball for Milton Karisa, who tapped home with ease.

Four minutes later, Mulongo made amends in style, racing onto Okello’s incisive pass before calmly slotting past Kimera to double the lead.
UPDF momentarily revived hopes with a superb free-kick goal from Samuel Ssekamatte in the dying moments of the first half.
However, Vipers restored their cushion immediately when Mulongo towered above the defence to nod in another delightful Arafat delivery at the stroke of halftime.
After the restart, Vipers showed no interest in slowing down. Five minutes into the second stanza, Robin Kane Hney unleashed a long-range rocket that left Kimera helpless as it fizzed into the back of the net.
The rout was completed when Moses Waiswa’s low strike squirmed through the goalkeeper’s legs, an early Christmas present from a nervy Kimera.
The dominant victory lifts Vipers to third place on the log with 16 points from six outings, while UPDF remain stuck in 14th, amassing only six points from eight matches.
The Kitende giants will be back in action on Friday, December 5, when they face NEC at the Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, seeking to maintain their upward trajectory in the title race.
