The Namuwongo Blazers have reignited their continental dream in stunning fashion, storming into the Elite 16 of the Road to BAL 2026 with a commanding 132–58 victory over Djabal Club on Sunday at the IST Gymnasium in Dar es Salaam.
After a setback against Dar City (83–70), the Blazers returned to the court with ruthless intent, executing a near-perfect performance that left their opponents reeling from start to finish.
From tip-off, the Ugandan giants looked unstoppable. Joel Lukoji Banza set the tone with a pair of precision three-pointers as the Blazers roared to a 31–10 first-quarter lead. By halftime, Peter Obleng punctuated a dominant display with a thunderous dunk, sending the Blazers into the break up by 39 points.

The second half was a spectacle of pure dominance. Obleng, red-hot from range, buried back-to-back threes as the Blazers extended their advantage to 84–47 by the end of the third quarter. The final frame turned into a basketball masterclass as Nam Blazers piled on the points to seal an emphatic 78-point victory.
Obleng led the scoring parade with a jaw-dropping 39 points, while Ivan Enabu and Innocent Ochera each chipped in 13. Moses Mugisha and Arthur Wanyoto added 11 apiece, as Jaycson Bay Bereal and Obasa Toluwalope joined the double-digit club with 10 points each.
With this dominant performance, the Namuwongo Blazers have officially booked their ticket to the Elite 16, set for November, where they will battle for a coveted slot at the 2026 Basketball Africa League (BAL).
